Morecambe Good News Van

On a glorious Sunday 16th July 2006, the Team were invited to talk about the Good News ministry at the annual open air "Songs of Praise" on Morecambe sea front. With the Lakeland hills resplendent in the background, the south of France has nothing on Morecambe Bay on a good day - and this was a very, very good day!

Sparkling blue sea in the photograph gives the clue to temperatures in the high 80's, clear skies and a gentle breeze. Karen and Bill volunteered and are shown above, in our brand new red polo shirts, being "grilled" by Rev. George Barton. They talked about our work locally, the Good News Trust nationally, the huge value of teamwork and prayer - and what excellent ambassadors they were. Sandwiched in between rousing praise led by the Lancaster Red Rose Band, other friends spoke on the Morecambe "CHiPS" project, the Methodist Ladies Network, local fundraising for Sierra Leone children and the Morecambe Salvation Army citadel.

The sharp-eyed among you will be saying "But some of the audience are facing the wrong way - what was the distraction?" The answer follows in the remaining photographs:-

The local Lifeboat returned safely from a distress call and was making its way noisily up the adjoining slipway just at a crucial moment.

Altogether a hugely successful and inspiring afternoon!
